Craig joined the DCAC board because he believes that the identification, prevention and mitigation of child abuse is paramount for a healthy community.  Craig was introduced to the organization through the Denver Active 2030, where he is also a member.  After hearing DCAC’s compelling story and the need they serve, he volunteered for a board position.  Through his involvement in Denver Active 2030 and his contact with several noteworthy charities, he found his philanthropic passion in serving the at-risk youth in our community through DCAC.  In addition to serving the at-risk youth in the Metro Denver area, Craig also serves his community by providing comprehensive financial & investment planning services to individuals, families and business owners as a Financial Advisor with Waddell & Reed.  Craig is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and has been with Waddell & Reed for nearly a decade.  Waddell & Reed is not affiliated with DCAC.

DCAC: WE PREVENT ABUSE, STRENGTHEN FAMILIES, AND RESTORE CHILDHOOD

DCAC coordinates the multidisciplinary team that responds to reports of child abuse, and provides crisis intervention, forensic interviews, assessment and treatment, and family support to more than a thousand children and their caregivers annually.

PREVENT CHILD ABUSE

Nearly half of the children we serve are between birth and age six. More than half of the families we see are Latino and Spanish-speaking families comprise at least one quarter of our treatment caseload.

Goals

DCAC's goals are to:

  1. Meet the child’s complete health, mental health and welfare needs
  2. Prevent abuse and violence through education and outreach
  3. Break the cycle of abuse and violence by engaging the entire family
  4. Ensure that every high-risk child who has been traumatized by neglect, abuse and violence in the Denver metro area receives immediate, compassionate and effective treatment
